Michael Moos Coordinator
Mike Moos is a 17 year resident of the Village of Sherman with over 30 years of public safety service. He was appointed by the Village as the Emergency Management Coordinator. He is certified as an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Professional Development Series (PDS). He is a state certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Firefighter II, and in Hazardous Materials. Mike works fulltime as the Manager of Homeland Security for the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and is co-chair of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force Public Information Committee. He retired in 2001 from the Sherman Fire Protection District at the rank of Assistant Chief. Mike has a Masters of Science degree in Occupational Safety and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Randy Burge Deputy Coordinator
Randy Burge and his family moved to Sherman in 1980. In 1988 he joined the Sherman Fire Protection District and retired from the fire service in 2006 as Deputy Chief. He has obtained state certification as an EMT-B; Firefighter II; and in Hazardous Materials and Vehicle Machinery Operations. He has also been trained in the Incident Command and FEMA/National Incident Management System(s). Randy is a retired principal consultant from the Illinois State Board of Education and has earned a Masters of Science, Instructional Media and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Kristen Evans Volunteer
Kristen Evans comes to the Village as a volunteer with a background in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She has been employed by the Illinois Terrorism Task Force (ITTF) for 5 years, first as an administrative assistant and now as a trainer and grant manager. She works very closely with the Citizen Corps Program in Illinois and also is the lead instructor for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program for the State. She hopes to bring her knowledge of the CERT Program and Emergency Management to the Village to better prepare the Citizens of Sherman. She also holds an Illinois real estate license and is employed by Aspen Real Estate as a REALTOR, property manager and auction clerk.

Bob Evans Volunteer
Bob has been a resident of the Village of Sherman for over 3 years with over 4 years of employment with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, the last 3 years serving as the Financial Officer for the Illinois Terrorism Task Force. Bob is based at the State Emergency Operation Center and serves as support staff for certain State Disasters. Bob is a 1998 graduate of Illinois State University.

Rob Thorpe Volunteer
Rob Thorpe is a 29 year resident of the Village of Sherman. He serves as Illinois Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics Director of Maintenance. In this roll he serves as the Search and Rescue Helicopter operator. He is certified in search and rescue management. Rob is the Division of Aeronautics liaison for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. He has been trained in Nuclear Safety transportation accidents and is the Helicopter operator for the state of Illinois Nuclear Safety Department Radiological Assessment Field Team, which responds to any radiological accidents within the state of Illinois. Rob has been trained in several of the National Incident Management System course provided by FEMA. Rob is also the liaison between the Division of Aeronautics and the State Police or any other State law enforcement agency for Search and Rescue or surveillance.
