A presentation was made to the Village Board of the On-Line Juvenile Adjustment Program by Richard Witstocki. The Village has been looking into alternative adjustment programs to the former teen court program. Mr. Witstocki presented an alternative adjustment program for teens that has gained nationwide recognition and is supported by the Illinois Attorney General and Justice System, some States have adopted as part of legislation mandating this program. The general premise of this program is to provide successful diversion methods to trouble teens to sentencing and prosecution which remains on their criminal record for ever. Recidivism rate is less than 15% which is pretty amazing. The Board is considering this program for Sherman. More information is available on their website www.Juvenilejusticeonline.org.
