In 2017, Sangamon County and various municipalities in Sangamon County adopted the Sangamon County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan: 2015 Update per FEMA rules. FEMA regulations for hazard mitigation plans require at least an annual meeting of a workgroup to:
- promote accountability for the Plan to various community governing boards; and to
- keep the hazard mitigation plan alive, so its recommendations do not become outdated.
The Village participated in the county meetings and is pleased to present the finalized product from the workgroup.
