Legacy Tree Planting Program Announced by Sherman M.O.V.E. for New Park.
Thanks to the Village of Sherman, the M.O.V.E. group and local donors, tree planting along the boulevard and in our new park has been a great success. In partnership with the Village of Sherman, the organization of Sherman MOVE sparked a frenzy of interest by residents and businesses with its initial planting of trees along the median of Sherman Boulevard. This initial planting kicked off an amazing and positive reaction by local citizens and businesses which expanded initial plans for tree planting and beautification. With the generous donation from the Villas and a local resident (who wishes to remain anonymous) donations were happily accepted to expand the tree planting along the Boulevard and into the New Park. This project has sparked many residents and local businesses interest in how they can be a part of this project.
Considering resident/business response, Sherman MOVE, in conjunction with the Village of Sherman, is pleased to announce its “Legacy Tree Program”. Like that of the current Park Bench Donation Program, the Legacy Tree Program offers a chance to purchase a 3”-4” diameter tree with a personal inscription plaque placed on or near the tree. The cost of each tree and plaque is $350. These trees will be placed on a first paid basis. Remember, only a limited number of trees for this opportunity are available currently so hurry to secure a location today.
