VILLAGE OF SHERMAN ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING OF STATE OF THE ART 10,000 SQUARE FOOT PLAYGROUND AT VILLAGE PARK
SHERMAN – Local media and the public are invited to a groundbreaking ceremony by Trevor Clatfelter, Mayor, Village of Sherman, its Board of Trustees and six local unions, all members of the Central Illinois Building and Trades Council. Six unions are providing labor necessary to install the playground as part of their apprentice program. The unions include: Carpenters Local 270; Teamsters Local 916; OPCMIA Plasters Local 18; Operating Engineers Local 965; Iron Works Local 46; Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 137; supervised by Eric Knoles, local resident and superintendent at O’Shea Builders. This phase of development is part of the Village Park’s overall master plan.
Completion of the playground is expected by end of August 2019. Plans are underway to celebrate with its opening and ribbon cutting after construction is complete.
