UPDATE: The Eagle, now named "Trooper" has healed and was successfully released back to the wild.
Sherman Police, Illinois State Police and Illinois Conservation Police responded to an injured Bald Eagle on I-55 at milepost 105 which is the Sherman Exit. The Eagle appeared to have head, wing, and foot injuries. The officers assisted the Eagle and were able to get it into a cage provided by Sherman Police Sergeant Aaron Entringer for transport to the Illinois Raptor Center in Decatur where it’s expected to make a full recovery!
